20.03.2009	Year 2008 In 2008 the turnover was 53,7 million euros. The share of export was nearly half of the turnover. During the year 2008 Mäkelä Alu Oy employed in average 167 persons. From the new investments there were the start-up of the 3rd Pressing line and the Vertical powder coating –line and as well as the extension of the Logistics centre and Automatic warehouse. The total value of the investments is more than 20 million euros and they will continue during the year 2009.
6.11.2008	The management system of Mäkelä Alu Oy has been accepted by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance according the standards ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004. The application areas of the management system are production and surface treatment of the aluminium profiles and components.
1.10.2008	Appointments 1.10.2008 BEc., Matti Korkea-aho (54), has been appointed Quality and Environment Manager. He was previously responsible for the development of our quality- and environment systems. 8.9.2008 BA., Janne Lager (38), has been appointed Salesman, domestic market. His previous position was Sales manager in Copro Tietojärjestelmät Oy.
1.5.2008	Appointments Technician Ari Kytölä (45) has been appointed Sales director. He was earlier acting as a Sales manager, domestic sales and as a Design manager. BA Timo Mastokangas (28) has been appointed Sales manager, domestic sales. His previous position was a Salesman in domestic sales. MBA Anne Hämeenniemi has been appointed Export manager, responsible for the export to Scandinavia. She was earlier acting as a Sales executive, responsible for the export to Sweden. Eng., Pasi Korhonen (39) has been appointed Design manager. His previous position was a Profile designer.
7.2.2008	Appointments in Mäkelä Alu Oy 1.2.2008 Technician Reino Korhonen (59 y) has been appointed Production director. His previous position was Production manager. 1.2.2008 M.Sc. Tomi Pilbacka (32 y) has been appointed Production manager, responsible for extrusion plant, foundry and die shop. He was earlier acting as a development manager in ABB Process Automation Service unit. 1.2.2008 Eng., MBA Juhani Pohjus (53 y) has been appointed Managing director. His previous position in Mäkelä Alu Oy was Sales Director. 1.2.2008 M.Sc.(Economics), Eng. Petri Mäkelä (39 y) has been appointed Chairman of the Board.
