Towards lower-emission aluminium profile production

Carbon footprint management and related emission reduction measures have long been a central part of our operations. We have carried out systematic work to reduce carbon dioxide emissions for more than two decades. We have been calculating our own emissions since 2005, and the results have helped guide our actions and supplier choices. Since 2005, we have reduced our carbon dioxide emissions (from our gate to the customer’s gate) by 51% per tonne of aluminium produced.

We have achieved net-zero emissions in our own production and internal logistics. Improving energy efficiency and replacing liquefied petroleum gas with emission-free energy sources have been key measures in achieving this.
